Congratulations to Chan Jau Tung

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Dear Jau Tung, you just equalled the record your senior Ngo Wei Keong set the other day... 2001? Oh 10 years ago. Not bad considering the Wei Keong has 2 more months to prepare in June.

Finale for national is the A girls Final which is a very tight 3 horses race between DHS, HCI and RJC. Let look at what scores the represent shooters shot for last year national school.

DHS
Grace Jiang - 381
Kai Yun - 387
Jing Ting - 391

Total: 1159

HCI
Jianing - DNS (2009 National: 382, 2008 National 386?... was behind Kenin could be same score)
Li Tyn - 388
Rubin - 387

Total: 1159 (Jianing score was taken to be average of 386+382 = 384)

RJC
Yafei - 396
Ke Nin - DNS (2009 National: 380, 2008 National: 387)
Goh Jia Yi - 393

Total: 1172
(Ke Nin score is taken as average of 380+387 run down = 384)

From the analysis RJC clearly have an edge, more than 13 points to be exact. Due to Yafei and Jia Yi which I really can't see them shooting below 390, in fact I think their combine score will be close to 790.

With the two RJ shooters having a combine score of 790 as the assumption we examine the other 2 schools. First HCI, Koh (not to be confuse with A boy record holder) and Rubin hit 392 in 2009 but it will be difficult for them to break their own A girls record since it is set by my loves Zanzan and Miss Tay, but I guess my 2 darlings will want their juniors to break their record so an average of 388 will do the trick which will sums up to 1164. Which is a bump up of 5 points form the total above although it is still 2 points short from the trio B div record of 1166. For DHS, I really have no fucking idea. Since they are not affiliated to my dear Zanzan and Miss Tay my bet is they are not going shoot higher than HCI. How dear the shooters are to Elephant is always a good estimate, since Zan and Xiao Dai got 3 national team gold.

With that said 1164 - 790 = 374. Which is not exactly a difficult task for Ke Nin to pull off. Although expect analysis in Swiss pointed out that Yafei might be distracted by the shooter behind her as she (the shooter behind her) is well know for "(damn big) and distracting actions" elephant really don't think she will be that all affected. Even if HCI managed to pull a 390 average off, Ke Nin just have to shoot 21 tens and 19 nines for RJC to win gold. Elephant don't think it is likely that they will pull off three 390s so a lot will depend on whether RJC screw up or not.

The only hope is to send url of cjyfc to Jia Yi and Yafei then make sure they read it and only then maybe they will not shoot as well tomorrow. Since 1164 is a very optimistic estimate compared to their total which was 1159. From the situation, unless there is another set of 3 shooters who can remotely come close to 1172 total of RJC, for example more than 1160, like 1161. RJC will run off as conformable winner on Thursday.

I won't be surprise to see BRD students start going to AJC especially if AJC changes coach.

Shooting

Introduction

The Air Rifle club is a brand new CCA which started in January 2009. The CCA has 12 active members to date. Within in short span of 3 months, the talented students manage to clinch the 2nd prize in the zonal level for shooting in the ‘C’ girls division in the National Shooting Competition. This is thanks to our dedicated coaches and National shooters Adrianne and Jasmine Ser as well as the had work and perseverance of our shooters.

Members

Our members go through a strict selection process during the Talent ID week.

To date the shooting club consists of 7 ‘C’ division girls and 5 ‘C’ division boys. All from Secondary 1 Express. The players are disciplined and committed students. They are also excelling in their studies.

Training

Training is held three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for. Each training session lasts for 3 hours. Training session include trigger and aiming techniques, basic body positioning, physical strength and endurance training. Students are also taught proper equipment maintenance.

Competitions

The ‘C’ Division girls participated in the 2009 National Shooting Competition. The girls achieved 2nd position in the East Zone and 6th in Nationals for the team category. In the Individual Event, one of our ‘C’ division girls came in 2nd at Zone Level while at National level she came in 10th.

In-house bimonthly competitions are held to encourage healthy competition among the members. These competitions allow members to push themselves further to improve themselves and achieve.

Shooting range and equipment

Our school has an indoor 10 metre shooting range which is well maintained and is in good condition. We have eight .177 air rifles two of which are compressed air operated while the rest are manual corking rifles. We are in the process of acquiring more 177 air rifles using compressed air to facilitate our students in preparation for competition. We also have 12 sets of shooting gears for the students.

Btw well done

David Lim and odds for next School to go

David Lim if you wanna be co-writer of the blog just drop me an email for invitation. You can ask JS to for my email...

Speaking of JS, everyone should have already learnt about the monstrosity that she done. According to uber reliable source from ACS, she quit on Denker's Sport Science and "stole" Xinmin Secondary from her old company. CJYFC can only speculate which other schools she is targeting next.

According to reliable insider source of CJYFC, we learnt that her secondary school is AISS, what better target than approaching your school as an ex-student especially when rumour has it that she is top student of her stream in AISS.

Odds of AISS going from Denker stands at 1.5

Of course after your student graduate, you would want to continue coaching them in... their JC. So JS next capture might actually be a JC rather than AISS. However according to CJYFC reliable source JS did not go to a JC so method used above is not applicable. So CJYFC employed the method of "where does JS's close from come from!"... Sources has stated that she is very close friend with the Ser sister as well as Ms Foo. Her shotgun mate Owl as well is from the same school as the other three so it does not take Yeong Li Qian to figure out which JC she will probably approach next.

Since YCKJC is probably not going to win anything in this year national apart from Pistol Boy because shi xiang retained 2 years ago and is in the team this year, it will increase the chance of them changing coach. Of course one might wonder who is there to win if YCKJC can't win the rest? The answer is obvious, Hamster' College Institute (HCI) will get all the gold if OJH get his way, then of course there is RJC who can also always finish second to HCI both in shooting and A level's result. But ACS pistol boy will clearly finish ahead of RJC's pistol boy... ACJC pistol girl always come out with a random gold every 3 or 4 years so they will definitely finish ahead of RJC's pistol girl. Ok never mind RJ pistol cmi ever since kangaroo graduated. MJC will pawn them as well and of course YCKJC in the process. Then add in those random neighbourhood JC like YCKJC who will cause upset and it will be byebye YCKJC... in two sense

Odds of Yio Chu Kang Junior College going from Denker stands at 1.

Well Done HCI

Hardcore child pornography shame of University of York student Jonathan Wong

By Megi Rychlikova

A STUDENT is facing jail after being caught with hardcore child pornography videos on his computer at the University of York.

Jonathan Wong, 23, who lives on the Heslington campus, had built up his secret hoard of lengthy and “graphic” movies featuring girls as young as six over more than a year.

The case came to light after fellow students became suspicious about audio files on the university’s internal network, and alerted campus authorities, who traced the files to Wong.

Police were then informed and uncovered pornographic images of children on his computer, York magistrates heard yesterday.

Officers raided Wong’s home and took away his laptop and computer hard drive.

When police computer experts examined the hard drive, they found 50 videos, all of which featured child pornography. Of the films, 25 were rated as Four on the Copine scale, which is used to decide the severity of child pornography.

The top two categories, levels four and five, are used for hardcore pornography.

Martin Butterworth, for the Crown Prosecution Service, told magistrates: “You are looking at quite serious offences. We are talking about girls as young as six.

“Of the movies, some of them are graphic, some of them have audio, some of them last more than an hour.”

Wong, of Janet Baker Close, Goodricke College, Deramore Lane, York, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of making a child pornography video between July 15, 2008, and March 19, 2010.

All the charges related to the files found on his computer.

Magistrates decided their maximum sentencing power of 12 months in prison was insufficient, and committed him instead to York Crown Court where he will be sentenced on December 13.

A University of York spokesman declined to comment until after the December court date.

Mr Butterworth said students logging into the university’s intranet, which is not accessible by the general public, found the audio files.

“This material was associated with the defendant,” said Mr Butterworth. For Wong, Keith Haggerty said he had not shared his films with anyone and had no intention of doing so.

Mr Haggerty said: “He went to some lengths to try to make sure no one else saw them. It was entirely private.”

The intranet can only be used by registered users with a password.

It is different from the university’s general website, which is accessible by anyone.

2009 National Schools Rife Predictions

Saturday, December 13, 2008

Keeping in mind with national school being brought foward...

C Girls

I have no idea. With schools flying under radar neither does other beside those that are hiding under the radar. Word of advise, don't hid too low or else you will end up finishing low. With that said, I would predict CHaoxiang to win individual first.

C Boys

Again I have not a single clue but I shall stick my neck out to predict Edwin Gouw to win individual first since national school is in earlier. However kept in mind that Ryo was hitting 580s in May but 570s during July national. This is because at that time he was pure and never think so much about winning when he first started out. Therefore we never know that having more experience for C division might have a negative impact rather than a positive one.

B Girls
Schools fighting this out will be this yr champion and runner up, AISS and FuHua, C girls champion and 2nd-runners up, RGS and NYGH. If we talk about depth AISS definitely has it. They can send 2 teams and still have a great chance of getting both team into top 4. However since they are only allow one team playing field are more even.

With last year champion and their 1st runners-up AISS would be the firm favourite to bring it back if injury happen in team elsewhere. Their teacher-IC would be having a selection headache and whether they will retain their title will largely depend on his selection. If the same incident which happened to their B pistol boys this yr occurs, then it will be mentally taxing for the shooters which might ultimately cause them their title. However they are still slight favourite and if their teacher selection goes right, they will probably retain their gold.

the other 3 teams all have almost equal chance of finishing second. It is still too early to predict who will take this. Right now NYGH seems most balance with Jac Koh Eunice and JiaNing all shouldn't have problem hitting above 380. RGS has C div champion Goh Jia Yi and 3rd place winner Kei Nin on their books have capability of covering up for Denise if needed who is probably going to reach above 380 soon. With 392 shooter PohHui leading their rank they still has 2 others shooters capable of hitting 380 and 1 390s and might cause an upset if AISS selection goes wrong.

Current prediction: AISS, FuHua, RGS, NYGH.

B boys

Hwa Chong will find themselves in the same position as AISS but will have a good chance of finishing 1st and 2nd if they could send to teams. They are united or at least united in that nearly all of them do not like their current captain. So much so that Tian Chong requedt CJYFC to announce during national period that Stefi is a MAN to screw his mental. Currently it looks like the team of YWC, WTC and YZY would be leading their line up and other school should be glad that their other 3 champion winning C boys Team can't shoot.

FuHua, ACS and SPS will be fighting it out for the second placing. Since Da Xiang am not coaching Fuhua now they will probably have no problem beating ACS and SPS. SPS leading by Sam will probably be joined by Daniel and Nitish. Sam and Daniel are there Nitish still has to catch up with them. As for ACS(I) Nic T will being leading his team with fellow (next yr) sec 4 Bryan and this yr C div team runners-up Ezekiel and Samuel but odds are against them since most of them are not exactly training.

Prediction: HCI team 1, HCI team 2, Fuhua, SPS, AllCanSwim (I)

A Girls
Team Northlanders are probably going to take this one. team northlanders because of them lives in Yishun area... i presume. With DSA getting easier to get through(read post below) it is unlikely that the other 2 wouldn't be joining Wu Zijin for next year national. All three shouldn't have much mental problem and Z29 habit of dropping emo kid like EngWay a year back is well documented(if it wasn't it is now).

NJ and AJ will be best bet for an upset but who will be their 3rd shooters?

RJC has Angie Lee who according to sources(I think Fuhua and AISS) is recently was on training trip with Denker company should probably think of what to answer to NYT and RJC when they read CJYFC. Since national is in April it will be doubtful for their coach to train up 380s shooters again.

Prediction: Team Yishun Residents, either NJ or AJ, DHS

YES Dunman high has A div leading by our dear VOKY they probably might pack quite a sting. If they are able to get this year B div result to A div.

A Rifle Boys
Not going to say much, RJ is leading by Justin Ho but who is he going to lead? With RI captain Yulin fell victim of softball net and ThyeJie MIA and we have no idea if Chester is still going to continue shooting, they will be depending on their coach to bring up to 50% 10s shooters like what he did to their this year B girls. HCI has Daniel and HeChang and XianQuan but according to reliable sources Xian Quan is busy sending girl home. So who will win? Dunman?

Prediction: I don't know, HCI, RI, Dunman High

Due to pure boredom...

News and Rumours

Jun Yang is enlisting in early January.

YOG/next year AYG, team had been formed selected shooters are now under tutorship of Coach Spencer Tan. Newly selected shooters not in the YOG team will be under Coach Edmund Goh. Both will sure be under a lot more pressure, one to deliver medal their to handle the large number of shooters. Some might says the team is formed too late, however will new shooters be added to the YOG team? There is shooter shooting 550 for national school but went onto win SEA games silver the following year so maybe Singapore YOG medal is still not in the team?

For cavemen, next year national will be from 23th March 3th April. It will be at least around that timing for 3yrs to clear up venue for AYG and YOG which follow(beats me why it is not 2yrs that is the information I got). It applies for all sport across Singapore. Placing national date back probably have a bad impact for schools and take away romance of Sec1 and J1 new shooters pulling an outstanding performance during national. This year C'div pistol national champion was only shooting borderline 500 in April when he was sec1 but managed to shoot an impressive 54+ during national in July. So is the opportunity cost of Singapore bidding too host those games too high? Maybe not since the only one affected are performance during national school for SCHOOLS. However sport council could have done something different for shooting at least for next year. Clearly SSA is capable of organising a international shoot right after national school, they have evidences to back themselves up - Asian School Games. Therefore it seems extra to put national school in late March, early April. Furthermore for YOG it will be starting on 14th August, which give SSA more time than enough time than this year Asian School Game... if YOG is going to be held in SAFRA in the first place. If it is going to be held someone else there will be no purpose to have national School in late March, early April since SAFRA it is not the venue. So maybe WSSS should consider putting next year national back to July.

For next year national school, NYT might be letting their shooters go back under their school coach for the month leading up to the competition. But will the shooters want to go back? This year B'boys team champ were all coached by Coach Goh while 2 out of 3 B'girls are under Coach Tan.

China trip for YOG and NTT shooters are still on, JH don't despair!!! It will be from 22th Dec to 5th Jan 09. Skip school for a few days for little kids YAY!

DSA is getting reactively easier and easier. As more uber students are not taking O level the bell shape curve will shift left, therefore it will be somewhat easier to get A1 and A2, thus getting lower than 20 had became easier. Maybe MOE should lower entry for DSA mark to 18?

Shi Xiang is going AJC like what OJH predicted

John Wong is going to MJC

Jeannel Mah is going to ACJC

Amanda is going to CJC

The 2 Northlanders are going HCI

Yulin has unfortunately injure his left arm. He has hand his equipment and gun to Kevin Yap. CJYFC hope he would have a swift recovery.

News and Rumours

HPM is stepping down. Everyone wants to be HPM. Blog owner Cheng Kai Wen seem especially interested in taking over the job. Da Xiang asked Gilbert Lee but he do not have the willingness to be one. So next on his list will be Mr Lau(or is it Low) from HCI. If only he can contact him...

Olympic champion's daughter is coming to Singapore for Asian School championship. No prize for guessing which olympic champion it is.

Da Xiang is getting NJ to hire coach Zhang SYH to coach NJ for pistol next year. She will probably be coming down every Sat, FOC what a great deal.

Da Xiang also wants LMK to come NJ.

Yang Wei Chuan said none of the NYGH shooting club girl is chio, but there are NYGH girls who are chio. But he said if they ask him, he will say he is lying. Which well that means no NYGH girl is chio and so logically NYGH shooting club girl being chio will be illogical. Unless they transfer out.

Sing Hui is shooting Asian School shooting championship after all.
