News and Rumours

HPM is stepping down. Everyone wants to be HPM. Blog owner Cheng Kai Wen seem especially interested in taking over the job. Da Xiang asked Gilbert Lee but he do not have the willingness to be one. So next on his list will be Mr Lau(or is it Low) from HCI. If only he can contact him...

Olympic champion's daughter is coming to Singapore for Asian School championship. No prize for guessing which olympic champion it is.

Da Xiang is getting NJ to hire coach Zhang SYH to coach NJ for pistol next year. She will probably be coming down every Sat, FOC what a great deal.

Da Xiang also wants LMK to come NJ.

Yang Wei Chuan said none of the NYGH shooting club girl is chio, but there are NYGH girls who are chio. But he said if they ask him, he will say he is lying. Which well that means no NYGH girl is chio and so logically NYGH shooting club girl being chio will be illogical. Unless they transfer out.

Sing Hui is shooting Asian School shooting championship after all.

Who gonna stop Mr King?

Monday, July 14, 2008

With closest rival Jonathan Koh shooting not shooting final who is gonna stop Mr King from winning his first Air Rifle Man Singapore Open gold? He is in quite untouchable form this year and only Jonathan had managed to beat him ONCE this year. His closest challenge is going to be team mate Zhang Jin and maybe best friend Melvin Tan. However smart bet will be they are going to stop him. Even so Mr king should be careful of tripping over banana skin, never underestimate the unexpected power of sec1 kid, SAFRA backbone Edwin might provide a shock of the year if he managed to master up his training form and beat Mr King to the gold.

Singapore Open... wonder why there is junior, the last time there is junior event it was back in 2003. Anw it just makes thing more interesting for that event. However just a quick word on open. SAFSA will get first, follow by either SAFRA or NUS. Da Xiang is shooting 93 94 during training... and 89!!! FREAK!. Team event will be interesting as it will be a 3 horse race between Combine School, SPS and HCI. Combine school lead by Jonathan is still favour with HCI wanting revenge against SPS expect a close fight between the 2 schools. Wei Chuan is godly according to Tian Chong and will be surprising if he under-perform again like during national. Ryo Yap reads too much CJYFC and shoot well below normal standard. Cheston, Sam and John aren't B'div team champ for nothing and Tian Chong will have to be careful, Ryo to stop reading CJYFC and Wei Chuan to shoot his godly 589 and 592 standard to have a chance of winning.

Anw since Ryo like the following phrase alot I will probably type it down to make him happy, since it was a correct prediction and he probably want to read it again and again and again...

Singapore Open Junior Rifle Man
Like I mentioned HCI is going to win this.

Aftermath

Saturday, July 12, 2008

Last 2 days of national produced some surprises with big shot crashing and others performing to their normal standard winning what they deserved.

Monday saw the crash of AISS due to disagreement in selection and resulted in the heartbreaking performance on Tuesday who just gave away their team gold to RI. They only managed a team bronze behind ACS. Last year champion Fuhua came in forth. Individual honour goes to Lawrence Choo from Bedok View, utterly deserving the win due to his hard work. Second goes to Chang Sun from RI with a score of 555 a 72pt improvement from his last year national result, third goes to Shi Xiang of AISS

No Surprises in C div pistol boys, just that last year champion could have done better. Shao Wei after shooting 559 was sent by Zhang29 to sit in the eye sight of TTY came in first, TTY second, Herman came in third. HCI as expected won team first, RI second, FuHua came in third with last year champion WSSS 4th 5 pt behind Fuhua.

Pistol A boys saw the disappointing performance from NJ, letting their chance slip. RJC and CJC won first and second, TPJC third with last year champion again, MJC 4th. Daniel Lau won first with Sean Ang from TPJC second while Zhai Rui from DHS got 3rd.

No surprise in team result for A rifle gals, AJC got first, RJ second, NJ third and since TPJC won first last year, they got 4th no surprise, refer to the 3 para above! Maybe AJC will get 4th next year.

2002- Let me tell you the story for an elephant...
Da Xiang trains very hard 44h per week during school term and 52h during June holi, however according ZSY he cannot even touch the dusk left over by LGY who is fore runner for national gold. LGY according to OJH, declared himself as Individual Champion. Everyone is getting Korea suit beside Da Xiang who is still using his black China suit and colourful china pants and it was only until late may after monthly shoot that he went to buy shooting shoe. It was only until 1 or 2 week before national that he received an unwanted Korea pants from his junior. Even with only bottom korea and measure to fit and top black china, he still competed in national school against shooters that are all geared in korea suits.

2008 - Let me tell you the story of TGJ...
TGJ works very hard but JP said she lack proper guidance. So there go a training plan was created tailored for her and through out the 6mths she placed in effort and hard work, and slowly there was progression from 360 to 370 plus. Even so she is still far from those who are favourite to win. There is even one that planned to not go for the shooter resort and asked if she can just come and shoot. Nevertheless she never give up and her captain brought her a korea suit from a retired senior, an idea from Da Xiang. However the jacket was too big and she only used the korea pants. And there she was shooting national with a black china jacket and korea pants not measured to her size like da xiang did 6yrs ago...

Nicole Tan won first, second went to hot favourite Jasmine Ser, 3rd went to GEPER Cai Xiang from TPJC.

Disgrace to KTW

Sunday, July 06, 2008

Friday before pistol A gals results are out...

FTW: How did NJ do?
Da Xiang: Like shit
FTW: Oh expected lah.

[update: FTW would like to comment that he said it in a jokingly and informal manner as he always talk to me in this way]

!!! what an ass. Enough say about what kind of people could come out with this kind of words. What kinda crap have he been taught for the past 10years? Seriously it is this kinda of stereotypical behaviour from people from your school that give your school the bad name. It is ashamed that your shooting club have such a captain, it is an insult, especially you joined back shooting cause you cannot get into CCA of your first choice. Another thing is i don't know why I said like shit, normally I would have just said oh bad, screwed, or something along that line, maybe that is the only thing I could think of when I see you.

I remember 1 or 2 yrs back after your senior Khee and me finished our safra monthly shoot you came and ask me how long he has been shooting and started bitching about how long he had been shooting but could only shoot 550 plus.
[FTW would like to comment that no such thing happen and he don't know about Khee]

You don't respect your senior but your junior shooting 550 plus during national. Thye Jie i am sure you want to go school with such encouraging senior. Period

Re-cap

Second day of national concluded with Carol Lee retaining her individual gold with the score of 393, Jian Huan coming in second winning Hazel Low of AISS by count back. AISS came in first with an impressive score of 392,389 and 384, FuHua was unlucky, having lost last yr c div runner up Ong LiYan to leg/foot injury but managed an encouraging team silver. YTS came in third, DHS was 4th, one point ahead of defending champion NYGH, while NJ finished 1 pt behind them in sixth, thx to warm water.

Just a short note, northlander doesn't like termites but termites better like northlander as they are going to migrating to Bukit Timah. Happy shooting with them hor xiao dai and xiao wu.

C gals as expected RGS came in first, AISS second, with Vivan particularly impressive. Third went to NYGH while SJC claims 4th. Individual honour goes Goh Jia Yi who just missed the chance for combine school, Koh Li Tyn(here is a gd Koh shooter for you TianWei) and Chan Kei Nin took home bronze.

Coach ZSY would like to point out that JiaYi and LiTyn was taught by her. And maybe Kei Nin too.

Third day of national

ACS shot a zero and probably handed the gold to HCI who well under perform but still managed to get team gold, like predicted by CJYFC. ACS was second with Fuhua coming in third. Individual champion was Daniel Toh from SPS, sec 1 shooter Edwin Gouw, third when to Ryo Yap.

No surprise for A div rifle, RJ coming in first, HCI second, NJ third, DHS 4th.

Forth Day

Loo Yan Jun swipe the individual C div champion as West Spring won first. Despite under performing Fuhua still retain their B div gold but Tan Tong from DHS grab an expected gold.

NJ pistol girl as expected like what FTW said, shot badly and broke the national A div record which incidentally is also National JC record. Oh and they broke the overall national record set by Fuhua B'gals last year as well. XinHang coming in first, Sing Hui 2nd and Eunice getting third.

CJYFC rocks

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

Once again information from CJYFC is so totally right... from my previous post and I quote

"Christian and Catholic school will almost certainly win"

It must be the following prayer that made the different in today national

"Dear Jesus, we know you are in our midst us. We ask you to let us win national gold for 2008 national air weapon for all the team event. We have faith that you will answer our prayer as you promised in the Bible. In your name we pray, Amen."

As expected, Fuhua B rifle boys won 3rd

For ind, Abel surprised everyone by coming in first, Cheston came in second while hot favourite Wei Chuan came in a disappointing 3rd, with his copy da elephant bend right leg shooting style. Tian Chong shot another blank for his first series and ended up that series with 88.

Preview for Thursday, HCI do not be surprise if 2 of ACS (I) shooter hit above 580, just that I rather not believe they will but I am willing to believe the sec1 will hit above 580. And of course there is school I rather not comment about.

A boys will going to be surprising, have fun =)
