Latest News, Updates, and Happenings on the Transfer Market.

Da Xiang has never ever kept it to himself, that he wants every top secondary shooter in Singapore to end up eventually in NJC.

and one of his targets is none other than AISS pistol shooter HSX.

however, HSX has made a controversial remark, published in The Straits Times, 30 May 2008, page H21.

["I want to be like national shooters Vanessa Yong, Adrienne and Jasmine Ser," he (HSX) said.]

this is a really intriguing statement he made. for a number of reasons.

1. Vanessa Yong, Adrienne and Jasmine Ser are girls. unless he wants to go to Thailand and....

2. The three of them are rifle shooters. so he wants to switch back?

3. They are all under NTT, so that means he wun wanna train under Denker anymore?

4. Of the three, two are from AJC while one from HCI. is it a hidden statement that NJC is out of his options?


Other Transfer Market News.

SportsSchool: As 2008 passes the halfway mark, we can sense Sports School/ Eddie Lim will be out scouting for innocent new blood again, to put thru their "intensive training programmes". There are a few targets identified and a move is expected in the near future. As of now, the names will not be revealed as it remains private.

HwaChong: HCI seems on the path to retain all their charges from High School and NYGH despite NgCX's desperate attempts to poach the shooters from the neighbouring schools. The sad news is there don't seem to be any reinforcements to the club through DSAs.

CJC: It seems unlikely that the main sec 4s from SPS will move on to CJC, which will leave a huge gap for VLee to fill.

Raffles: The teams from RI and RGS looks set to move up to RJC.. as usual.

YeongLQ: The top PSLE scorer in 2002 reportedly remarked that if his Chem Olympiad clashed with Nationals, he would choose to go for Chem O. not like RJC needs him to win A div ARM anyway!

AJC: SerXW is stepping on the brakes for training, to make way for books. Projected training frequency stands at around once per week. She needs to make up for the studying time sacrificed for her overseas expeditions. This will deal a huge blow to AJC's charge for their first ever title.

ACJC: ACJC is one of the few schools always left out when it comes to mentioning favourites, especially for Air Pistol. This is a gentle reminder that ACJC are still in it for Air Pistol. The best is yet to be.

SAFRA: There has been a lot of kopitiam talk among pundits about Nationals recently. The spirit is in the air, and there are nearly FOUR pages of students training at SAFRA Yishun daily. A record, in recent memory. And it's not even June yet.

Saturday's NYT Monthly Shoot will be a good gauge about how C div will turn out to be like.

People might not know this, LeeSH is not allowed to shoot A div this year. Ryo shooting B div is more likely to happen than LeeSH jumping a div. However when there is a will there is always away.

First get Joannah (a muslim) to shoot all the monthly shoot and competition all wrap up like how a normal muslim girl would wrap themselves in Middle-East. Being all wrap up, people cannot exactly tell how she looks or whether it is her or not. And since islam is immune to ISSF rule, this is strictly allowed.

Next during national, get LeeSH to wrap herself up to pretend to be a muslim and Joannah. Again people will not know and dare not qn who the shooter is and LeeSH can safely shoot all thanks to the mighty allah. Praise to the mighty allah. His divine grace and will have brought forth this day.

Hello, this is the kopitiam bookie again, for Nationals 2008 Preview Part II.

It's an estimated one and a half months before Nationals, and as Nationals draw closer and closer, i guess it is time to review the odds and statistics since the time the odds opened. any changes will be represented by the strikeout tool, and new odds will be beside that of the opening odds, on top of a short summary. As well as a shortlist of INDIVIDUAL title contenders (which odds will be reviewed in the near future).

B Division Boys Team
The team title looks set to belong to one of these three schools, as there is no apparent challenger to the title. HCI looks to stay firm despite TeoHC's form flickering like a candle in the wind. They have WanTC which made it into top five comfortably on top. Recent trends show that SPS have stepped up a gear in terms of training hours, ever since mid-years ended. CJO's fundamentals are strong and should go no lower than 580. GaoYL and LeeTJ are working very hard, trying to look for that higher gear. However, the Rafflesians haven't seemed to find it. Besides, before they find that higher gear, they should first find a third shooter. Otherwise the odds may raise against them.

NYGH odds are plunging due to May Monthly Shoot which they totally outdone every other school taking part. TaySI boasting 387 and WuZJ scoring 385, on top of a KhoE with 380. NYGH's hard work will keep them ahead of the rest, dispelling all talk that NYGH was only lifted by one person. The other schools look inactive on the surface, apart from those in NYT. Very unpredictable, and the race is still wide open.

Recent trends point to inconsistency within RJC's team, apart from the newly-crowned Sportsboy of the Year, KohTW, who boasted a 589 in April, and a 592 in May, coupled with a stellar 105.7 in the finals. What's more, he hasn't been training. YeongLQ seems to move up and down as if the SiChuan earthquake has affected him, having 590 in April followed by a low 571 in May. Though inconsistent, other teams still don't seem like they can catch Raffles, and RJC looks set to still take the title comfortably.

A Division Girls Team
A levels pressure seem to be taking its toll on the star of AJC, with a clear dip in standards recently. However, SerXW still looks in a good position to spearhead the team. Nonetheless, with little room for improvement on her part, it'll take more than her individual efforts to bring the title to AJC for the first time in history. Recent shoots point to the rise of VJC. RJC seems to have only LeeMX, which surely won't be enough. For NJC, if LeeSH is put in A girls, they will stand a very good chance.

Other news.
The base of Shooting in Singapore is growing so rapidly, it is getting tougher and tougher to track every shooter's progress unlike in past years.

CYG Trials for ARM was won by a Sec 2, YapZY, despite the field boasting of nearly all NTT members.

May Open Monthly for ARM was won by TeeKH, a shooter from ACSI.

C div title for ARM looks to be a three-horse race among HCI, ACSI and FHSS.

MJC looks set to take A girls Pistol Title.

CJC and VJC A girls Rifle look to be on the rise, and might make AJC's road to the title a little tougher. Why isn't CJC included in the odds? Don't ask me.

RJC seems to have made a good move in shooting terms, to DSA LauKX. He is very visibly the anchor for the team, and could be the sole reason why, if RJC wins A Div Pistol boys.

NYT is leaving for a "training camp" in Kuala Lumpur. It's a shock HPM and BG were persuaded successfully for the trip, and although initially objected to it, eventually still gave the green light. We wonder what can be done there, which cannot be done in Singapore. It is suspected that it is only a move to make NYT look attractive to those who are not in it. In other words, just a 'wayang'. At the expense of tax-payers' money.

HCI student do dry firing on pistol target because Z29 is lazy to change the target.

In RGS, students actually have to pay for part of their coaching fee themselves. For example, the school is paying a certain sum of money to the coach, each shooting club member has to top it up with a certain amount every month on top of their fee.

Daniel Lau is regretting going to RJ and said that he should have gone NJ.

Chua JunYang the great is coming back and our fellow blogger KW thinks he is cute. HPM pls give him a gun.

Kenneth Tan is finally coming back with his 9003 finally arrived in Singapore.

If you like bed bugs you will most likely loves sleeping over at sport school. Refers to Jodie Tan's legs for more detail.

List of shooters going to munich are confirm. Rifle man we have JunHong. Rifle Woman we have Ser Xiang Wei who qualified as first, Ser Xiang Ying who is going because she missed the china world cup due to school exam and this is to make up for her. Aqilah who only shot for 1 of the qualifying mth but got 398. Zhou Pei Xuan who yeah is there and Ivy Lim, who shot... I can't really remember.

HPM admitted that he made a screw up in the list of shooters though, which is commendable for someone in his position to admit he made a mistake.

TYQ is rumoured to be dating DHSS teacher-IC. He is saw hugging a lady at the bus stop or interchange.

ZZQ thinks that TCHS = The China High School, once you are not performing, he will cut you. This is what happened to Eng Way last yr. However if EngWay shoots 575, he will be HCI third shooter. Ryan Cher is also not being consider even he has the ability to surpass 576 as he wasn't taught by ZZQ from the start. Who wouldn't love to stay in a shooting club with such encouraging coach.

NYGH's coach was actually under Coach Gu back in China and was Liao Ning top shooter and was even national Champion in her days. So much so for ex-nygh shooter saying she has no prior shooting experience. Technically speaking she is my Shi Jie, not my Shi Ing but my Shi Jie. Haha ok not funny.

Lastly, little one pls dun quit shooting, you love shooting and i am sure you will regret if you quit. You are fortunate to have the talent to shoot at such high score with such consistency at your age and you do not have to worry so much about guns and so on as you were in the national team from the start. You are fortunate to be a able to shoot, some people who wants to shoot also cannot. Play soccer in SAFRA get ban, SAFSA shooters using SAFSA lane get ban and so on, life is not smooth sailing, we should be happy that we still can shoot. I am not asking you not make noise when things doesn't goes your way but just don't quit because of it, you still can shoot and thats what you love to do, is better than you can't shoot if you quit. If you devote your whole life to completely avoiding something you like, then that thing still controls your life and at the end you never solve anything at all. Just remember little one, there are people in shooting that loves you so pls stay k ;).
